The evolution of beer systems stems back to the advent of keg beer, which was a natural progression from the traditional cask or barrel beer used beforehand. During the early 20th century, pressurized containers (or ‘kegs’) were introduced to the market. These specialized containers allowed beverages to be carbonated, pasteurized and filtered prior to serving, which resulted in a more desirable taste among patrons. In today’s modern beer system’s, keg drums are utilized to store large quantities of beer, all within a dedicated cooling room. Beer regulators control the flow of supply between the kegs and over-the-counter dispensers, while a dedicated glycol chiller circulates cold air around the room to maintain a consistent temperature. These chiller systems are designed to handle high-ambient areas (of up to approx. 32°C), which makes them perfectly suited for high-traffic venues and coping with seasonal changes.

From the Cooler to your Glass

Every beer system has a dedicated set of dispensers, sometimes multiple dispenser locations, which all connect directly to the one storage unit. When the dispenser is activated, beer travels from the storage container straight through an insulated conduit, in order to deliver a fast and convenient beverage. Since beer needs to stay cold when being transferred from the keg to the glass, these conduits are specially designed to do just that.

To achieve this, the beer conduits feature multiple cold water hoses that surround the primary beer hose. The cold water is supplied from the storage room, which provides a continual flow of liquid that travels to and from the bar. Without this unique design in place, beer systems would not be able to deliver consistently cold beverages.
